One of the biggest concerns customers have is that if Homebase stops operating in Vietnam, what will happen to your money and title ownership?
And here is the answer:
Even when Homebase no longer operates in Vietnam, your ownership rights are still intact.
Top investors that trust Homebase
During the pandemic, Homebase has successfully raised capital from venture capitals and large global financial institutions. These include Y Combinator, Partech Partners, Goodwater Capital, Ace and Company, Emles Advisors as some of the big names.
Previously, Homebase also successfully raised capital from VinaCapital Ventures, Brian Ma (Co-founder and former CEO of Divvy Homes); Troy Steckenrider III (Former CEO of ZeroDown) and Darius Cheung (Founder & CEO of www.99.co - the largest real estate portal in Singapore and Indonesia).
How does Homebase fulfill our co-investor obligations?
You will jointly sign a co-investment contract with Homebase and a representative of one of the above investment funds called the title escrow. A member from these funds will be there to monitor our contract in case anything happens.
This is to ensure that Homebase will strictly abide by the terms and conditions we promise.
What are the risks of Homebase shutting down?
For a company to shut down, all sales activities must be delayed for a long time. This is highly unlikely since Homebase has to report weekly and monthly to investors on sales and revenues. In case there is any problem that could cause the company to perform worse than expected, these funds will require Homebase to fix the problem right away before it escalates.
With very high standards for their portfolio companies, these funds will immediately intervene when there is a delay in the business process. This is to make sure that Homebase generates enough profit to improve our product offering and customer service.
If Homebase ceases to operate in Vietnam, an investment representative in the title escrow contract will act on our behalf to fulfill the services. This includes continuing the investment contract and reserving your home title until you can fully buy back from us.
Conclusion
Even if Homebase risks closing down in Vietnam, there is absolutely no need for you to worry about your homeownership journey being disrupted.
